3rd Wool Festival at Kostaras Farm – Dolo Pogoni, Ioannina, Greece
4 & 5 July 2025
@Kostaras Farm in Dolo Pogoni, Ioannina, Greece
Following the success of the previous editions, the 3rd Wool Festival in Dolo invites wool professionals, craftspersons, and enthusiasts to gather once again in the mountainous village of Dolo, nestled in the Epirus region of northwestern Greece.
This year’s celebration is a two-day event with presentations, discussions & interactivity focusing on traditional techniques and innovation in sheep wool with a focus on sustainable agricultural development.
The central theme this year is water weaving!
On Friday, the wool cycle will be presented, how from the pokari we get to the yarn and how to weave a floccata. All participants can weave collaborative projects, which will be thrown into the water mill on Saturday evening to see their transformation using only water!
The event is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, in synergy with the University of Thessaloniki and with the participation of EWA (European Wool Association)
The Festival offers a unique opportunity to explore the wool cycle in a region known for its heritage in the weaving art of the flock, cross-border farming traditions and deep ecological knowledge.
